Honey was conceptualized and built by the artist for Chicago’s Illumination 2018, a single night light-based event. Honey is a site-specific, immersive installation representing the mythic connection between bees and the afterlife. Many cultures believe that bees can transport messages to loved ones who have passed, and honey is valued for it’s many medicinal properties. During the event, guests were invited to enter the space and have an individual experience with the actress inhabiting the space. The installation was created from paper cups affixed together and backlit. The floor was mirrored to create an infinite feel, and each golden bee was hand cut and assembled by the artist.

Fire + Smoke was conceptualized and created by the artist for Illumination 2019. The immersive experience featured hand cut paper suspended from fishing wire to create an unearthly environment. The figures featured were inspired by mythic figures of wind and fire illustrated in ancient block prints.
